Year in Review!!!! Bring on 2009 baby!!!!

With 2008 coming to an end, im gonna do the typical year end blog that everybody does.
So here's my top 20:
1. Got my driver's license
2. Started a coffee house
3. Toured as a roadie with ApologetiX (17 shows in 5 states)
4. Played more shows than I've ever played
5. Drove across the state twice
6. I got into my first car accident
7. I turned 21 and got carded at midnight on my birthday
8. Got a new job working at babies r us. its not much, but its better than wendys
9. Met a lot of new bands-Punchline, Skylife, Years Gone By, Calling Out Closer just to name a few
10. I moved
11. learned what its like to be unemployed
12. wrote new songs and recorded them
13. i got a keyboard
14. got a new phone for christmas.
15. went to the shore
16. i have a new friend thats an annilope head that lives in my basement

What's been going on with me???

I moved into my great grandpa's house at the end of November to help him out, so im in the process of redoing the finished room in his basement for my practice space/studio/office area. Eventually i wanna get some recording stuff so i can have an actual studio, but thats not gonna happen for a long while.
I just finished writing and recording a new song called "Anonymous Guy" this past week. I encourage everyone to check it out on myspace. So far everyone that's listened to it says its really good. Its a very different style from "To Love You" and I like it a whole lot better than my other song anyway. I'm working on writing more songs and recording them.
I downloaded a free recording program so I can record my new stuff. its not really the best recording program in the world, but its a start. Like I said, i wanna get real recording stuff, but Im too broke to buy any of that kind of stuff, unfortunately.
I havent worked more than four days in the last month, which really SUCKS like you dont believe, but Im not even gonna get into that because I'll go into a long segway about it.
There's one more week left til Christmas and I havent done any of my Christmas shopping because im always broke.
Im gonna be going to see my long lost friend Tank on January 2nd in Harrisburg, which Im really excited about because we havent see eachother since my 19th birthday which was two years ago. We've been trying to find time between both of our show schedules to hang out but something always came up at the last minute and it never happened. But January 2nd will be the reunion day and it will be worth missing The Gathering Christmas Party at the Cock 'n Bull for it. As much as I wanted to go to that, seeing a friend that I havent seen in over two and a half years is more important than going to a party with friends I see a lot.
That's what's been going on with me. Next blog will be my "Year in Review"

Pet Peeves

I hate being out of the loop about everything. when things that are supposed to be going on and then someone cancels it and doesnt tell everyone involved that its not happening. that has to be one of my biggest pet peeves in the world.

PUNCHLINE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I finally made it to my 3rd Punchline show and it was AMAZING. They played a ne Christmas song for the first time live, I saw them play the real version of "Ghostie" for the first time and they dedicated "Battlescars" to me.
It was just a blast to hang out with them since its been two and a half months since I saw them last. They're fun guys to hang out with and I really miss that part of their shows. Don't get me wrong, I love their live show, but hanging out and catching up is always fun too. Its so hard when they live on the other side of the state to keep up.
SEGWAY:Thats the only part that i dont like is that the majority of my friends live on the other side of the state, but on the other hand that just makes the time we have together more special because we dont hang out too often.

Tomorrow i was supposed to go see ApologetiX but i just got an email that the show has been cancelled due to the lead singer being sick. So now i need to find something to do on a friday night.

Stabbed in the back

Today I found out that I will not be seeing Valencia and Bayside on Saturday, I will be sitting at home. Why you may ask? The person that i was going with forgot to mention that I should've ordered my ticket online so i knew I had one before they got sold out. Well, i get a txt message after we had been hanging out all afternoon asking if I got a ticket online and i sai i didnt and then i got a message back saying that the show's sold out. I can't even start to describe how pissed I am. I was really looking forward to that show this weekend and now those plans are screwed over. and this person isnt sorry for me that i cant go now.
The other thing Im pissed about is the fact that I've done a lot for this person and then i get stabbed in the back. Im really in a position that I feel used and taken advantage of and it sucks. I really feel that this person was using me because I can drive, I've been going out of my way and wasting my gas to go hang out, well it wont happen any longer. This person can find their own way to get home from school and their own way to concerts. If Im just getting used for that I wont have it anymore.
On top of that the Flyers got beat by those stupid Penguins in an overtime shootout. Honestly, why doesnt the NHL make it so that the game can end in a tie. Yeah shootouts are exciting to watch, dont get me wrong, but when you thing about it. Goalies are exhausted after overtime and then they're put on the spot to really test how good they are by doing one on one. I think they should use shoot outs in the playoffs because playoff overtimes last 20 minutes and they keep going until the game winner comes. Whereas during the regular season theres a 5 minute overtime and if nobody scores the game winner, they go into a shoot out and if no goals are scored they keep going until a goal is scored. They should just leave the game as a tie after overtime is over, each team gets a point out of it. Just thought I'd throw that out.
well its time for me to go to bed cuz i have to get up in the morning for work.

been a while

Lots has happened. I got my car back and it looks as good as new,Work has been slow as all get out, and Im moving to my great grandpa's house to help him out because he needs to have somebody there cuz he's 91 years old and lives by himself. Its gonna be cool though.

I went to a show tonight and saw Team Goldie, Park Wright, Openning Day, The Sky Life and Adalie. All were very good. My faves were Sky Life and Openning Day. Very cool guys.
Next weekend Im really excited because Im going to see Valencia and Bayside at The Trocadero in Philly. Its gonna be ASM. I bought the new bayside album the day after my accident and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. Both bands I've been hearing really great things about so Im excited to finally see them live.

also later on this month I get to see my asm, cool "uncles" band ApologetiX down in Newark. Its gonna be really awesome cuz my buddy brandon's gonna be there too. I havent seen him since the end of July and I havent seen my uncles since they were at the Jersey Shore in August.

And I get to play a show at my coffee house, this time I even get to play an entire set with maybe seven or eight songs. pretty psyched. Not sure what i wanna play yet, maybe I'll write a new one or maybe I'll stick with my covers. Im working on some new songs that I may play but I am working on them. Not gonna tell ya what songs because then I'd have to kill ya. LOL. come on November 29th and you will find out.

Its been a while

Umm yeah, its been like a month since my last blog. I am gonna try to start up again. A lots happened in the last couple weeks.
My big show that i was going to play on Nov. 1st was cancelled. Im really sad about that because I practiced really hard for that show and then two weeks ago the promoter cancelled it. I still do have two more shows coming up at my coffee house though, but I was really looking forward to playing outside the coffee house.
The other big thing that happened was I was in my first car accident. very scary, never wanna do it again. It wasnt even that bad. All I can say is older cars are made so much better than the newer cars. my car took the blow pretty well with minimal damage and the other car was really bad. Nobody was hurt, so that was really good and I didnt get a ticket or points because the people were really nice.
Im looking for a second job.
I want my Mac lappy fixed because im sick of using the crappy family computer thats extremely slow and has too many issues. PC's suck.
Im playing drums tomorrow for the first time at The Gathering. very excited about it and I love playing drums. dont get to play drums too often anymore, so Im really happy.
Have a show tonight at my coffee house. Lots of work to do. still have to really practice because I've gotten too many new songs that i wanna play at future shows and I dont practice the songs that I'm playing then i start debating if i should do the other songs. Its a pain.
Well I should get going. Lots to do!

well....

Yeah...last night i was gonna write more, but i got into watching House on TV and I dozed off in the beginning of the third episode. Im such a nerd. But I was really tired and there's something about me watching TV up in my room, I always seem to fall asleep. I did however get up around midnight and thought about going on the computer but decided not to because i had to get up by 8 so i could blog before getting ready for work.

I had the most bizzare dream last night that i was still in highschool. I was always running out the door to catch the bus in the morning, and this came back to haunt me. It was a monday morning and that weekend was crazy. I played a show on friday night and a show on saturday night and that saturday night Punchline was playing a show at a bar called "Soboslai's" (which is very ironic considering thats the lead singer's last name) and I had a show at a bar called "Robotski's". Yeah, dont ask, it was a dream. Anywayz, the places were a block away from eachother and I ended up bar hopping after i was done playing, so i could be at both shows. But back to the bus thing on monday morning, I was telling my bus driver all this while on the way to school. Extremely bizzarre. Just thought I'd share that to get a laugh out of some people.

That's all i have to say for now, and I need to get ready for work.

im bored

second blog in three days. a record for me. Like i said in my last blog i dont blog very often. so im gonna make it a habit. it takes 14 days to make or break a habit, so im gonna blog everyday for a while. woohoo.

So I've been learning a lot of new songs on guitar these last couple weeks. Lots of Punchline songs. I just picked up Boys Like Girls "Thunder" which is now a song im in love with. Eventually Im gonna learn "they looked like strong hands" by bayside just picked it up last night, its a little challenging but i need to get out of my "guitar comfort zone". I've come a long way, for example, i used to really hate playing bar chords (unless i absolutely had to play them) up until recently when i picked up some punchline sheet music and it's basically all bar chords and now i actually love playing them. its just something i guess i needed to get used to and i needed to strengthen my fingers so i could play them. its a lot easier on my electric guitar than on my acoustic but i guess i gotta get over that.

I wish i had money...My friend Carl who played in the band Last Tuesday (RIP) is selling his bass and I would buy it but have no money whatsoever. I've always wanted to play bass. I had a bass on loan to me for a week once and I fell in love with it. I hate being poor :'(.

so yeah, i was really bored, Im gonna write more later tonight. Im thinking about watching Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2 tonight after i get home from work. Great movies and thanX to my Uncle Vegas for the recommendation I now own both of them.

My First Blog

Well, I got bored and decided to start a blog. never used to be very good at blogging, but i guess i could give this a shot.
But yeah...what should i talk about in my blog????

Lets see, today is National You Tube Day (well til midnight) and I completely forgot about it until Im talking to one of the people that wrote the asm, cool theme song for it. Then all the sudden I remembered it was October 1st.

It's really scary that it's October all ready. This year is going by so fast, which im not complaining. I've done some pretty cool things so far this year.

I have my first "big" show coming up in a month from today at Creep Records. Its an Invisible Children benefit, so it should be a lot of fun and I will be the only girl performing, which I am ok with. Im really excited about it. I've been working really hard on putting together a set list for it. I have so many songs, its so hard to pick, but I think I got pretty much all of them picked out. I'm gonna play a short set at my next coffee house, which will be nice.
Even though I will be miserable while Im there because Im gonna want to be at The Croc Rock and hanging out with Punchline.

Im excited for ER tomorrow night. last week's episode made me cry because Pratt died and I really liked him, one of my fave characters. But Carter's coming back and he's my all-time fave characters.

Im going to see my good old friend, Tank Man, this month. I havent seen him in 2 1/2 years. He played in the band Last Tuesday (RIP) and I was buds with those guys. Since they broke up I havent seen them since, but have kept in touch every now and again to make sure we're all still alive.

Well enough babbling. I need to go to bed. had a long day today and i have a long day tomorrow.
